Subtle Presence
A reactive artwork that detects facial cues from viewers moods in a gallery space and/or via mobile apps.
Developed using custom software, MoodModArt – Emota™ v4.0. This mixed media work presents a dynamic time lapse animated scene that changes atmosheric, stylistic or other variable elements. The animated still-life painting shifts subtly caused by sensing personal characteristics of the participants via cameras situated in the ehibition space. The second half of the dyptich presents a series of four traditional still paintings in oil on canvas. The body of work explores an autonomously responsive media delivery modified by analyzing detected biometric data from viewers in the exhibition space.
This artwork was on display in the West Mich Redux exhibition in South Haven Center for the Arts, South Haven MI in 2022.
